In the Hospital

The Brompton Fountain offers support to families from the point of diagnosis onwards, throughout the patient journey. 

In the Community

We understand that the difficulties of having a child with a medical condition do not stop after discharge from hospital and therefore provide services and information to help families at home, within the community.

Parents & Carers

Our team has first-hand experience caring for a child with a serious illness, so we can provide comprehensive support to parents throughout their child’s treatment journey and beyond.


We run a group called Trailblazers, supporting inpatients and outpatients of Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals aged 13-25.

Hospital Teams

Family Liaison Team

The funding of portable oxygen (SATs) monitors which will allow patients to be safely monitored whilst away from the ward. They will also be used by the nurses when visiting patients in the community.

Play Team

Royal Brompton’s team of Healthcare Play Specialists and Play Assistants, provide vital input for paediatric cardiac and respiratory patients.

Paediatric Clinical Psychologists

We will be able to fund more fibre optic lights. This kind of sensory equipment makes a huge difference to children of all ages, encouraging them to touch, play and explore and can also be a calming relaxation aid whilst in hospital.

Clinical Nurse Specialists

Fund a subscription to the MedicAlert service for 12 months for patients up to the age of 25. This is a piece of medical ID that contains vital information to know in case of an emergency, providing parents and patients with peace of mind.

Respiratory Team

Providing specialist resources and funding projects for young patients during their admission to promote wellbeing and working with the hospital play services team to support children with additional needs such as autism understand what is happening to to ensure a calm surrounding.
